StanChart boosted OTC clearing rate by 11.7pp in 2023

Tilt contrasts with move away from CCP trades at Citi, Wells Fargo

Standard Chartered boosted its over-the-counter derivatives clearing rate by 11.7 percentage points in 2023, the most of any global systemically important bank (G-Sib) in Europe and North America.

The UK bank had novated 47.9% of its $9.35 trillion OTC derivatives notional to central counterparties (CCPs) as of last December 31, up from 36.2% a year prior.
