Around 31% of oil and gas companies do not have an adequate energy trading risk management  (ETRM) system, creating heightened risk exposure and limiting a firm's ability to manage crude oil gathering and refined product operations, according to research by consultants IDC Energy Insights published in a report entitled Technology Assessment: ETRM in a Post-Recession Environment.
