IT good governance is essential

IT governance as a sub-set of corporate governance is coming to the fore. What are the main challenges for a hedge fund/fund of hedge fund trying to follow good IT governance? Do you expect any regulation/legislation specifically relating to this?

The more reliant the market becomes on technology, the more individuals and organisations will see the need for IT governance, declares Jon May at Odyssey Financial Technologies. “It is, of course, dangerous to generalise about hedge funds but as a rule, they do not have large IT departments and therefore less experience in such governance,” he explains.
