Reuters' outages help competitors

NEW YORK – Reuters' recent outages may be contributing to increased interest in alternative datafeed solutions, industry sources told sister publication Inside Market Data .

The trend comes as rival Bloomberg begins a world tour of 15 cities to promote its data solutions, including the Server API and B-Pipe datafeed.

The outages affected data delivered via Reuters' IDN (Integrated Data Network) on August 23 and the vendor's Dealing 3000 system during Asian trading hours on September 8.
