SunGard unveils new trading and risk management suite

SunGard Trading and Risk Systems (STRS) will next week unveil the first version of its Adaptiv trading and risk management suite.

Adaptiv brings together a number of existing SunGard packages with added features including real-time straight-through processing, portfolio analytics and desk-level risk management. It will offer more comprehensive enterprise-wide risk management.

New options include a documentation module, allowing greater control over outbound messages, and support for local character sets such as Mandarin Chinese and Cyrillic. It is delivered via a single Web-based user interface.

The package also sources trades directly from front-office systems, reducing the need for trade reconciliations.

STRS said the system will be fully compatible with the company’s existing technology, helping to reduce upgrade and migration costs.

“Our phased approach to unifying our solutions using the Adaptiv framework assures customers of an easy and distinct migration path and a cost-effective, long-term solution as we continue to support and enhance our existing solution set,” said Don Wood, chief technology officer at STRS.
