West LB commodities desk signs up with OpenLink

The global financial markets unit at Germany's West LB is to use New York-based OpenLink's Endur trading, risk management and transaction processing system for its energy and precious metals trading desk in London.

Endur, a fully integrated front-to-back office solution, combines advanced analytics with sophisticated pricing curves to help users accurately model and value any energy instrument. It performs risk evaluation and allows traders to evaluate market, credit, volumetric and operational exposures.

Users can also purchase a range of development tools, available through OpenLink's Toolkit solution for advanced customisation.

"OpenLink provided us with the open architecture we needed, plus the flexibility to manage risk in the way we saw fit," said Marc Wall, global head of gold, energy & commodities at West LB. "Endur has been fully integrated with West LB's major banking systems to enable straight-through processing of newly traded instruments."
