Trema launches NAV reporting software

French technology company Trema has launched NAV Monitor, software developed for the investment management industry for real-time calculation and reporting of net asset value (NAV).

NAV Monitor provides fund managers with instant visibility on the outcome of their investments. It supports compliance, portfolio modelling, order management and fund bookkeeping. It can also be integrated into Trema’s existing fund management system, Finance Kit, the company said.

The system also offers an integrated audit trail function. This was developed in response to recent market-timing scandals - where shares are bought after the market has closed, dubbed 'betting on yesterday’s horses' by attorney general Eliot Spitzer. This audit trail will act like an aeroplane’s 'black box', said Trema’s product manager Arnaud Leconte, leaving a detailed record of all events to ensure compliance with regulatory procedures.

“In risk-averse times, real-time NAV is a welcome advance and should help to build a more confident financial industry,” said Jeanne Capachin, research director at technology consultancy Financial Insights.
