ING to use Credient for credit portfolio management

The Netherlands-based ING Group has selected SunGard Trading and Risk Systems’ Credient application to support its credit portfolio management business. The application service provider-run product will provide ING with a global, integrated, real-time infrastructure, enabling the company to manage its financial markets credit risk.

ING will be able to monitor, report and control its credit risk across the group in real-time and implement industry best practices in credit portfolio management, SunGard claimed.

Credient will support all financial markets products in ING's treasury, trading and investment activities. SunGard will host Credient in its European SunGard Availability Services data centres, providing a fully resilient business continuity service.

“The regulatory changes proposed in the Basel II Accord have increased industry-wide focus on credit risk analyses and portfolio management,” said Steve Husk, president of the Credient/Infinity operating unit. “Credient provides banks with the infrastructure to consolidate, analyse and exploit their credit portfolios.”
