One member of Eurex had to post €363 million ($407 million) of variation margin and other payments to the central counterparty (CCP) on one day in the fourth quarter of 2018, the largest amount required of any member for two years.
The same-day obligation was 86% greater than the next-largest for 2018 – a €195 million payment call first reported in the second quarter.
