State Street top trading partner of Dodge & Cox Funds in 2018

Custody bank made up over 90% of all principal transactions

The six Dodge & Cox Funds executed $585 billion of principal transactions with State Street in 2018, around 93% of its total.

The Income Fund, which had $54.3 billion of net assets at end-2018, made $180.4 billion worth of principal trades last year, 95% of which were with 10 counterparties. State Street was the fund's favourite partner with 77% of volumes, followed by Citi, which accounted for 4% and Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan with 3% each.
