Top European banks shed $32 billion in op risk  

5% average drop across 16 European banks reported quarter to quarter

Operational risk-weighted assets across European banks dropped an aggregate $32 billion over the three months to June, with firms shedding an average of 5% quarter to quarter.

The extent of the shift varied widely across the 16 banks sampled. ING Group posted the biggest drop – at 15.4% – with op RWAs falling to $43.5 billion from $51.5 billion. Crédit Agricole had the smallest decline to $33 billion from $44.4 billion, a fall of 4%.
