Major staff changes at op risk technology firms

London -- There has been a lot of movement within the op risk technology industry over the past few months. To begin with, one of the key individuals at financial software giant SunGard who was involved in inking the firm's relationship with UK-based Raft's Radar op risk product has left the firm. Bill Popp, executive vice-president at SunGard Trading and Risk Systems, was originally part of SunGard's Enform consulting division, and was considered to be the firm's op risk 'evangelist'. His departure came amid industry rumours that the SunGard/Raft partnership had hit rocky territory, something both firms deny.

John Winter is now the product director in charge of Raft's Radar software. His appointment came in March, after the week-long tenure of David Millar as managing director in charge of sales of both Raft's credit and op risk products. Millar has gone back to his consulting practice, OpRisk Limited, working part time on developing Basel II and Sarbanes-Oxley training packages.
