The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) will focus on technology risks and the consumer credit sector in 2014, according to the regulator's latest annual risk report.

The FCA released its risk outlook for 2014 yesterday, detailing key risk areas that will affect banks in the near future. The report focused on the effects of technological advancements, culture and controls, and issues surrounding consumer credit businesses and their customers – the FCA took over responsibility for regulating
