This article explores the use of business analytics to support energy trading and risk management (ETRM). Analytics are not new to ETRM - traders and risk managers have been using them for years to determine value-at-risk (VAR), evaluate credit and counterparty risk and perform stress tests. However, companies trading in the energy and commodities markets are now looking beyond the analytics of ETRM to wider business analytics.
