Energy companies are only starting to discover the value of risk management skills and taking an enterprise-wide risk approach, says John Wengler

Speaking at the Energy Risk USA conference in Houston in May, John Wengler, partner at consultancy Risk Cultures, tells Pauline McCallion about the key elements involved in developing an enterprise-wide approach to risk management.

"When you saw the rise of the chief risk officer in the 1990s, it gave a sense of the importance of risk and yet it took until this decade for the notion of enterprise risk management (ERM) to become the next solution," says Wengler.
