
Data aggregation is largest daily risk issue for energy and commodities
Data aggregation is the most difficult energy trading risk management issue an energy firm deals with on a daily basis, says Centrica Energy’s risk reporting manager when speaking to Lianna Brinded at the Energy Risk Europe conference in London

"From a purely technological perspective, data aggregation and the fact that you need to report very exact numbers to make decisions on a very quick basis from front office to senior management to various committees, is a daily issue," says Diana Higgins at Centrica Energy. "The challenges in the energy and commodities risk sector [mainly stems from the fact that we] are trading different commodities, in different markets in different countries and each one has its own rules."
