New home-host guide from CEBS

MONTE CARLO – The Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS) is planning to publish a paper in July for a three-month consultation period that will ‘flesh out’ the home-host framework for the advanced measurement approach, according to senior CEBS and European Commission executives.

Speaking at the Global Risk Management Summit in Monte Carlo in late April, secretary general of CEBS, Andrea Enria, indicated that international banks tend to capture loss data and manage op risks at a mixture of the legal entity and group level, making the allocation of capital to local jurisdictions a thorny process. He says the new consultation paper will provide guidance on how supervisors should interact under the EU home-host framework.
