Power prices will not recover until at least 2015, says S&P

Parts of the US will not see power price recoveries until 2015, possibly 2020, yet energy companies are refinancing with a 2006 recovery in mind, says Arleen Spangler, an analyst at rating agency Standard & Poor’s (S&P).

Spangler’s comments come after a report from S&P showed that the totalamount of refinancing needs in the energy merchant sector had significantly decreasedsince reports the firm released in November 2002 and April 2003.
