Not so cosy with Coso

The final Coso enterprise-wide risk management framework is about to be published. But some op risk managers are unhappy about what the updated document means for them. By Choongo Moonga

The Committee of Sponsoring Organisations of the Treadway Commission (Coso) – a voluntary, US-based private sector organisation working to improve the quality of financial reporting through business ethics, effective internal controls and corporate governance – is due to release the final version of its enterprise-wide risk management (ERM) framework this summer. However, op risk managers from financial institutions are not completely happy with the proposed finished product.
