Tractebel opts for PowerCosts

Tractebel Energy Marketing, a subsidiary of energy company Tractebel, has signed up to use risk trading technology provided by PowerCosts Inc (PCI).

Oklahoma-based PCI says it has so far been signed up by companies producing almost 50% of US power generation. Tractebel Energy Marketing will use PCI GenTrader – a portfolio optimisation model used for both short term operations optimisation and long term planning.

PCI’s client base includes energy companies AEP, Dominion, Duke, TXU, Reliant and Sempra.
