CNE innovates in energy risk management

Constellation NewEnergy (CNE), a subsidiary of US utility Constellation Energy, has completed a successful trial of a new risk management programme for large industrial users.

CNE’s i2i price risk management programme helped two participating end-user companies meet their energy spending budgets during an extended period of commodity price volatility.

The i2i scheme was developed in direct response to the budget uncertainty many large energy consumers experienced in the face of volatile energy markets. The i2i model links customer budgetary requirements and risk appetite with global energy market data and analysis to create customised purchasing strategies.
