In view of the growing focus on climate change and its effects, a newly published book, Asian Catastrophe Insurance, provides expert coverage of a very topical area. Richard Sanders reviews it

The chapters in this book represent a selection of the papers presented at the first International Conference on Asian Catastrophe Insurance, held at Kyoto University in December 2007. The 17 chapters are split into three sections, which can be useful, but in some situations appears a fairly arbitrary split, as certain chapters are unique enough to defy categorisation. The authors are obviously united by their interest in Asian catastrophe and hail from various countries in Asia and elsewhere
