Leading insurance companies to meet on op risk on April 9

LONDON -- The world’s top 16 insurance companies are expected to meet in London on April 9 with the aim of agreeing a common stance on the case for operational risk insurance.

Executives will discuss ways of creating a common approach to global banking regulators who want comments before May 31 on the role insurance might play in mitigating op risk under Basle II, the new capital adequacy accord proposed for large international banks from 2004.
