Basle regulators launch second op risk survey

BASLE, SWITZERLAND -- Global banking regulators in early June launched their planned second survey seeking data on operational losses suffered by banks in order to help refine the op risk proposals of the Basle II banking accord.

The primary aim of the survey, issued as Operational Risk went to press, is to collect granular, or event-by-event, loss data for 2001 to help decide the form and structure of the advanced measurement approaches to gauging operational risk under the Basle II accord
