UK insurers work on op risk insurance for investment firms

LONDON -- UK insurers are expected to come up with proposals in April for forms of insurance that could cover the operational risks of investment firms affected by new capital adequacy rules proposed by the European Union.

The Association of Private Client Investment Managers and Stockbrokers (APCIMS) has had talks with the insurers, who include underwriters at the Lloyd’s of London insurance market, on widening the scope of current stockbroker and investment management insurance policies. APCIMS
