Bank Of Montreal Readies Systems For Capital Adequacy And VAR

BANK of Montreal (BMo) is working on developing new risk management systems to comply with Canada's capital adequacy regulations. The new systems will also provide VAR analysis across BMo's entire portfolio, according to bank officials.

BMo's current in-house developed risk systems are able to generate end-of-day position reports, but can't produce bank-wide VAR reports.

"At the moment we do not have VAR numbers for the bank's overall position. But we are going to get it by the end of this year,"
