IAIS examining ways to increase regulator exchange of information

Supervisors urged to sign up to IAIS multilateral memorandum of understanding to allay concerns over sharing of confidential information

The International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) is examining ways to encourage greater cooperation between national regulators amid concerns that unwillingness to share confidential information could hinder the development of an international regulatory framework.

The move follows a review by the IAIS of observance with the IAIS international core principles (ICPs) on cooperation and information exchange between supervisors.
