Iosco letter to EC ‘strongly recommends’ PFMI standards for non-EU CCP recognition

International standards should form the basis for recognition for non-EU clearing houses by the European Securities and Markets Authority (Esma), according Ashley Alder, chairman of the Asia-Pacific regional committee of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (Iosco).

In June, Alder – also chair of the Hong Kong Securities and Exchange Commission – wrote to Michel Barnier, European commissioner for internal markets and services, following a meeting of 25 capital market
