The top market regulator in Canada's energy-rich province of Alberta has acknowledged the country's first attempt at rules identifying derivatives dealers and making them register with regulators – the equivalent of the swap dealer definition contained in the US Dodd-Frank Act – have caused consternation among firms and need further work.
