Chief of staff is latest to leave SEC

Didem Nisanci follows stream of departures from US regulator

Chief of staff Didem Nisanci will leave the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) tomorrow, the regulator said today. Nisanci, appointed by SEC chair Mary Schapiro in 2009, is the latest in a series of top-level resignations following Schapiro's decision to step down last month.

Schapiro will leave the regulator on December 14. Since her announcement on November 27, several other senior SEC staff have also quit: corporation finance director Meredith Cross; trading and markets director
