New US customer collateral segregation rules set to take effect in over-the-counter derivatives markets on November 8 should not be extended into the futures world, industry participants claimed at a Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) round-table discussion in Washington, DC on February 29 – with some arguing the new approach should not be adopted in OTC markets either.
