Bank of Japan's Adachi took over as chair of Basel Committee on Banking Supervision’s standards implementation subgroup on operational risk mid-crisis, but he’s hit the ground running

Life has not been calm for Mitsutoshi Adachi over the past couple of years. In May 2010, the veteran Japanese regulator, who is deputy chief of the risk assessment division at Bank of Japan, took over as chair of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision’s standards implementation subgroup on operational risk (Sigor). He succeeded Kevin Bailey, head of capital and regulatory policy at the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency – carrying on where Bailey left off in the push to revise
