Regulation has dominated the financial landscape in 2010, with the passing of the Dodd-Frank Act and the firming up of Basel III. But market participants also had to navigate the small matter of a European sovereign crisis. Peter Madigan looks back at the events of the past year

The final month of 2009 set the tone for much of this year.
