Change on the horizon

With the European Commission working on draft proposals to update its derivatives and energy markets legislation, the precise future for Europe’s energy brokers is unknown, but change is certain. The gradual growth of ‘electronic screen’ trading amongst most of the over-the-counter (OTC) energy asset classes over the past 10 years has already fundamentally altered the energy broking landscape and looks set to leave Europe’s energy brokers in a good position irrespective of new legislation.
