CFTC to include Ice Henry Hub SPDC contracts in traders' reports

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) will include positions in the IntercontinentalExchange (Ice) Henry Hub natural gas contract in its weekly Commitments of Traders (COT) reports.

The move is in line with the Commission's efforts to improve the transparency of the markets by providing additional data to the public.

In July 2009, the Commission decided that the Ice contract was a significant price discovery contract (SPDC), and it is the first Exempt Commercial Market (ECM) contract to be included in the COT report.

ECMs facilitate the trading of contracts in certain commodities that are exempt from CFTC regulation if the market satisfies the conditions for the exemption
