Cebs says banks ‘sufficiently capitalised’ after EU-wide stress testing

European banking supervisors say banks appear to be sufficiently capitalised to cope with future crises, though detailed findings of a recent stress test exercise will not be disclosed.

“They [Ecofin] appreciated that under the conditions applied in the exercise large EU banks appear sufficiently capitalised to head off a severe macroeconomic deterioration,” the Committee of European Banking Supervisors (Cebs) said in a statement.
