E.ON Energy Trading joins CEGH

EON Energy Trading has joined the Central European Gas Hub (CEGH) at Baumgarten. The move is part the company's plans to expand its gas trading activities in Central and Eastern Europe in an effort to improve market access and develop a more integrated, efficient and liquid gas market across the region.

Ingolf Hoven, director of gas and oil trading for E.ON Energy Trading says CEGH will facilitate a strong connection between Central and Eastern Europe with the rest of the continent. "Emerging markets, such as Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania, can be linked to Western European markets such as Germany, via the NCG (Net Connect Germany) hub, and Italy, via the PSV (Punti di Scambio Virtuale) hub," he says.
