HuRLOs re-launched for 2009 hurricane season

After a trial launch at the end of the last year's hurricane season, Weather Risk Solutions (WRS) has introduced a set of Hurricane Risk Landfall Options (HuRLOs) for the 2009 season.

Allowing users to hedge against the financial risks of hurricane landfalls, the products are structured as call options on whether and where a hurricane will make first landfall on the US Atlantic and Gulf coasts. They will be available for trading on WRS's internet-based electronic trading platform and all transactions will be cleared by CME Clearing.
