David Pinchin’s enthusiasm for brokering hasn’t diminished since he started in the business in the late 1970s. “Once you’ve worked in the brokerage business and have seen the excitement that comes from executing transactions, you’re hooked,” he says. “It’s intoxicating work, and I consider myself very lucky to be in this market.”

Pinchin launched TFS in 1985 with Julian Harding, his long-time friend and co-chief executive, and the firm entered the energy markets in 1989, brokering oil. TFS
