Fox tackles SAR proliferation
– William Fox, director of the US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, said in an October speech that the biggest challenge that FinCen faces is "to address the phenomenon of 'defensive filing' of suspicious activity reports". He defined this as "when an institution files a suspicious activity report on an activity or transaction that really is not suspicious", and said it occurs "because financial institutions are – justifiably in my view – unwilling to accept theOnly users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
