Insurers Set To Work To Devise Op Risk Cover

ZURICH, SWITZERLAND -- Leading Swiss insurance companies are exploring with global banking regulators the extent to which insurance could be used to mitigate operational risk, officials with the companies told Operational Risk.

The officials are keen to show the regulators that their concerns about the speed of payouts and exclusion clauses in insurance contracts are unfounded, and that insurers can come up with products that meet regulators' requirements.

They were commenting on the banking
