First Chicago Names Ballantine As Head Of Risk

FIRST Chicago NBD, the parent company of First National Bank of Chicago, has appointed John Ballantine to run its internal risk management. The posting is part of a wide-ranging management reshuffle of First Chicago's corporate banking division.

Ballantine has been appointed chief credit policy and risk management officer for First Chicago. He will report directly to Verne Istock, the company's chairman (see diagram, below).

A First Chicago spokesperson says Ballantine's remit covers credit
