QIS will go local, says BIS

-- The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision decided at a meeting in early August not to perform another quantitative impact study (QIS) on a global basis. "The view of the committee is that each country can perform their own QIS at the national level," says an official from the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), which houses the Basel Committee. "It's not envisioned at this time that it will be performed through the committee."
