A slower than expected rise in US interest rates combined with low volatility across all asset classes and a lack of market conviction has resulted in subdued trading activity in Asia during the first half of 2014. Against this backdrop, banks have had to live with lower flow volumes and have refocused their efforts on long-term institutional client relationships.
