Vladimir Piterbarg, head of quantitative analytics for Barclays, has left the bank after 10 years. He has departed to pursue other interests, including working on the second edition of his book on interest rate modelling, co-authored with Leif Andersen, global co-head of quantitative strategies at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML).

Piterbarg is a two-time winner of Risk's quant of the year award, in 2006 and 2011, and has published 10 of his research papers in Risk. Before joining Barclays in
