People: Brevan Howard hires HSBC’s forex derivatives chief

Vincent Craignou moves to Brevan Howard, Gavin Wells takes responsibility for CDSClear, and Thomas Poppensieker takes Deutsche risk role

Vincent Craignou, global head of foreign exchange and precious metals derivatives at HSBC in London, has left the bank to join hedge fund giant Brevan Howard as a portfolio manager.

Craignou had been with HSBC for more than 10 years, joining the bank in 2003 from ING, where he was global head of forex options. Before that, he worked as a forex options trader at Credit Suisse for four years.

Meanwhile, Leith Assouad, a senior project manager at Brevan Howard, has rejoined Citi as head of index
