Former SEC chief accountant returns to regulation

James Kroeker, previously chief accountant at the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has been named as vice-chairman of the US Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB).

Kroeker resigned from the SEC in 2012, intending to seek work in the private sector. He joined the SEC in February 2007 as deputy chief accountant, and took over from Conrad Hewitt as acting chief accountant when Hewitt retired in January 2009. Before joining the SEC, Kroeker was a partner at Deloitte & Touche's
