Obama appoints White as head of SEC
Mary Jo White to replace Elisse Walter, following Schapiro’s resignation in December 2012
US president Barack Obama has named Mary Jo White as the new chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
White replaces Elisse Walter, who took over as SEC chairman when Mary Schapiro stepped down in December last year.
