Managing director's departure comes before regulatory overhaul

Managing director of the UK Financial Services Authority (FSA) Margaret Cole will leave the organisation later this year, after almost seven years at the regulator.

Cole joined the FSA as director of enforcement in July 2005, before being promoted to managing director of enforcement and financial crime in September 2010. In April 2011, she was named as the first managing director of the conduct business unit, which will become the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under the new regulatory
