Nomura hires new structured lending head

Munish Varma joins from Deutsche Bank as global head of structured lending and special situations

Munish Varma has been named as Nomura's new global head of structuring and special situations. Varma will be based in London, reporting to Georges Assi, global head of credit products and co-head of fixed income for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and Kieran Higgins, co-head of fixed income for EMEA.

Varma moves to the firm after a 12-year stint at Deutsche Bank, where he was most recently head of the global markets business in India. He began his career at Bankers Trust in 1997, and
